Understanding and Evaluating Imaging Sonar Systems

The application of technology undersea presents a unique challenge to industries across the board. Limited visibility remains to be a major obstacle to the development of ocean engineering. However, with the use of sonar imagining systems, it is possible to attain extremely accurate data even in the deep ocean. This research will focus on determining the best sonar system in terms of effectiveness and cost for the RoboSub competition by the Machine Intelligence Laboratory.
